In ‘Kiss Somebody’, Julie Bergan’s powerful and emotive vocals propel the dynamic energy of what’s undoubtedly her most impactful pop anthem. Bergan's infectious flavor is matched by a striking dancefloor-friendly production courtesy of SEEB. The duo have a Midas touch for a worldwide smash, having exceeded 3.3 billion streams for their collaborations and remixes with heavyweights like Mike Posner, Coldplay and OneRepublic.

“‘Kiss Somebody’ is a positive message with a positive outlook on the future,” says Julie. “Keep moving on, don’t take life too seriously and kiss whoever you want: kiss a guy, kiss a girl, just kiss somebody!”

The idea for the song emerged when Julie was in the studio with her collaborators Skinny Days. Having just emerged from a break-up, Julie told them, “I don’t want a new boyfriend, I just want to kiss somebody.” And the idea snowballed from there, with SEEB coming on board after hearing an early version of the track from an adjacent studio.

‘Kiss Somebody’ fulfils one of Julie’s many ambitions, having wanted to collaborate with SEEB since they both performed at the extreme sports event X Games Norway in 2017.

Inspired by the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé and Britney Spears, Julie Bergan originally came to attention as a teenager. She first earned international acclaim with her single ‘Arigato’. Topping the charts in Norway and reaching #5 in Sweden, it also resulted in her winning 'Breakthrough Artist of the Year' from the Norwegian songwriters’ association NOPA and a Spellemann (the Norwegian Grammy / BRIT equivalent) nomination for 'Song of the Year'.

In 2018, Julie featured on Alan Walker’s global smash ‘Ignite’. Returning to #1 in Norway, its success saw her perform all over the world, ranging from a massive Coachella set to EDC Japan. She built on that with her double-Platinum debut album ‘Turn On The Lights’ in 2018 , the double-Platinum single ‘STFU’ which won 'Song of the Year' at the NRJ Awards and the ‘Hard Feelings: Ventricle 1’ EP late in 2019. ‘Kiss Somebody’ will feature on the EP’s second installment which will follow in the near future.

Julie’s ambitions for the year ahead are to keep pushing herself as an artist, songwriter and performer, and to continue to build her fanbase abroad. She has been particularly inspired by her previous shows as support to pop icons Justin Bieber and Dua Lipa.

“I followed them from the very beginning of their careers and saw how quickly they grew,” she reflects. “So to get the opportunity to meet their audiences and introduce my music was just really cool. It makes me want to become a better version of myself.”
